Full vaccination is a condition of attendance for all participants.
This face to face interactive program runs over one full day. It is designed as a 'crash course' and it is recommended from approximately 30 weeks. This program aims to provide information about labour and birth. Topics include: stages of labour, when to come to hospital, Active Birth, choices and coping strategies, pain management, the role of the support person and a “virtual” tour of the Birth Unit. It involves the opportunity to practise birthing positions, as well as practical strategies and techniques to manage the discomforts of labour, under the guidance of an experienced educator. We recommend that you also attend a Parenting Program and the Building a Family class, which complement the Birthing Program.
This program is for the expectant mother AND her support person. Each person MUST be enrolled to attend. If you are experiencing financial hardship at the moment, please contact the office.
PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO ATTENDING ANY IN PERSON CLASS.

You will be provided with the useful 'Preparing for Birth:Mothers' and or 'Preparing for Birth:Fathers' books on the day of the workshop. We strongly recommend that you read these texts as a follow-up to attending your class. We recommend wearing unrestricted clothing as activities are included.

Parking Concession rates are available for class attendees. For the concession rate - on entering hospital main car parks P1 or P2, please take a ticket at the boom gate. Prior to exiting: present the ticket and your signed authorised application (from the Class Educator) for validation at the Wilson's Parking Office located in the P2 car park level 4, hours 6 am to 10 pm. First 3 hours free. THE PARKING OFFICE CLOSES 10PM SHARP.
