There are certain times of development that are known as key ages and stages, and visits to your local Child and Family Health Nurse are scheduled to correspond with these stages. These key visits are outlined in your child’s Personal Health Record (Blue Book).

At these visits the Child and Family Health Nurse will discuss:

  • The health and development of your child
  • Physical and emotional effects on the family
  • Your own health and wellbeing

  • Any concerns you may have as listed below

    Breast feeding support

    Parenting Support and Education

    Infant/child nutrition

    Unsettled/crying babies

    Infant/child sleep difficulties

    Child growth & development

    Infant/child behaviour

    Infant/child play & safety

All Child and Family Health Centres have access to trained Interpreters who can be booked to attend appointments with you at your Universal Health Home Visit (UHHV) and at the Child and Family Health Centres.
