| Can I claim on Medicare for these classes or will a private fund cover me | No, you cannot claim on Medicare. Rebates may be available from Health Funds but will vary. Participants will need to contact their Health Fund for more information. Participants will receive a receipt with the name and professional registration number of the RNSH Midwife, plus the date and cost of the session.
Please note: RNSH Midwives DO NOT have individual provider numbers, as they are employed by the hospital. Please advise your Health Fund of this when enquiring about rebates. |
| What is the difference between Birthing and Parenting combined Program and the Birthing Program | The series is a six week series, which allows more time for interaction with the educator and other class participants. The Birthing Workshop is a one-day or two half-days"crash course" |
| What is the difference between the Birthing Program and the Birthing with a Difference Program | The Birthing Program explores all the options for birthing while Birthing with a Difference Program is for women and their partners who are particularly interested in birthing as naturally as possible |
| Do I bring my partner along to all the classes with me | Yes, except for postnatal physiotherapy exercises classes which are for women only |
| If the recommendation is to book from 12 weeks, but the brochure says attend from 25 weeks, should I then wait to book | No, it is better to book early |
| What if I am booking in later than your recommendation | These are merely a guideline, so we will do our best to accommodate you, but your choices will be limited and your preferred class may be full |
| If I have telephoned you for appropriate class dates does that mean that I am booked in | No, you are not booked in until your enrolment form and payment are received.
